MrsM is eager to learn as much as possible about Geology now that she is working in the Department so she points to the long rod that the student is holding and asks what it is. MrsM imagines that it is something to clean rock surfaces.
The student explains it is a juggling stick. Because he runs courses on circus skills. His speciality is juggling with fire. Would MrsM be interested in a session or two?
MrsM regretfully declines the kind offer...life is busy enough without setting fire to one's hair...but it is nice to be asked.
But surely worth it just for a chance to wear the outfit?
ReplyDeleteI need to work on my LBT before I can pull off this look.
DeleteModern life No. 336: Student debt. I might have accepted, even my eyelashes grew back when I singed them on a Bunsen burner c. 1972. But, on the other hand, my daughter used to go to a drama club where circus skills were taught and frankly it was terrifying, so probably wise to decline.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to think of resolving issues of student debt by running away with the circus. It is Enid Blyton for the modern era.
DeleteChateaubriand? 'Sir, your hat is on fire!'
ReplyDelete' the happy moment when fire and hair unite...'
DeleteI must learn to concentrate better, I read ' I am eager to learn as much as possible about Geology' and thought you had written Gregory!
ReplyDeleteBring on Gregory - I am open to offers.
DeleteThe chap in the photo has had an unfortunate incident with his hair... And his trousers.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't look too distressed. Perhaps those knickers are fire retardant.
DeleteYou just made me giggle! Thank you. x
