22 May : Boule de Neige

It was Boule de Neige that won the Premier Rose award in the end. I am glad of it. Such a perfect rose - a meringue confection of ivory petals with a old fashioned scent that makes me feel lightheaded. I think if I could only have one rose on my desert island it would be this one.

  1. Bea-u-ti-ful. Looks like billowing skirts of a wedding dress. Ooh, just love this time of year. Sam x

    1. It is the colour of my wedding dress - and yes, I did have a very billowy skirt. Perhaps that is why I love this rose.

    1. This one is tangled up with a honeysuckle and the combination on a warm night is quite divine.

  4. Woah! That's a rose?! I'm not used to seeing roses look like that (but I'm not a rose expert of even a gardener of any standing). An impressive collection of petals, indeed.

    1. All summer without complaint unless it rains in which case the flowers look rather bedraggled.

  6. I have a serious case of wantsies...

I will ask the gardener to investigate.
